Youth Contract extended to more young people


Welcome news today that the Government Youth Contract, which supports 16- 17-year-olds get into employment, education and training, has been extended to help another 15,500 young people. It will now include support and tailored programmes for young people who are or were in care; young people who have one GCSE A*- C; and young offenders released from custody.

Support available usually includes mentoring, assistance with CVs, job applications and getting ready for interviews, and development of key skills, e.g. maths and English.
